Why Mercy Seat?

During the wilderness journey, Israel was instructed that from above the mercy seat Jehovah-God would meet with them.

Exodus 25:22 states "And there I will meet thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim's which are upon the ark of the testimony."

It was there, at the appointed time that God met with man, to engage him, commune, and speak with him. There above the mercy seat the visible glorious presence (Shekinah) of God was revealed. Once a year on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies to offer blood sacrifice on the mercy seat, thereby making atonement for the sins of Israel. The wilderness tabernacle of Moses was a foreshadowing of the coming Christ Jesus, who would make the ultimate sacrifice on the cross at Calvary for the sins of the world.

Today we recognize that Jesus is the mediator between God and Man; that it is through Him alone, that fellowship between a Holy God and fallen man can be restored. We believe that every need is met in the presence of God.

The purpose and vision of this ministry are to provide a place of refuge for those who feel forgotten or left out; a place of restoration and healing for those who are bruised and broken; an avenue of reconciliation for those separated from God. The Mercy Seat is the place where broken hearts are mended, relationship is restored, the lost are reclaimed and the wounded healed through our communing together in the presence of God.
